Keeping Home in the City

Striving to keep a sustainable, healthy and resourceful home in NYC.

I’m a New Yorker. I love being out in the city, immersed in the hustle and bustle of daily life. But I long to retreat to a well kept, peaceful, and comfortable home.

This is how I keep my one bedroom home in NYC.

How to Host a Card Making Party

A card making party is a great way to use up old art and craft supplies. I had a container full of old scrapbooking supplies that I no longer use. I thought it’d be great to use it to make cards - something more practical. And even more fun to make cards with friends!

To host your friends for card making, follow these simple steps:

  1. Invite your friends. They can bring old supplies as well (one of my guests brought an adorable dinosaur hole punch, which inspired my project below).
  2. Clear off space — a table, the floor! And start crafting! Some friends dived right in and starting making things, others waited until they found inspiration - some snacks and wine were available when waiting for inspiration to strike.
  3. Take home the cards you make, or if you’ve amassed a stack of cards (and especially duplicate patterns), put some up for grabs and share cards with friends.
